5 best legal TV shows on Netflix, Hulu, and Prime



Hearing Matters might not be the most exciting real-life events when you’re at it, but it is certainly a big drama on TV. Whether it’s moving mock investigations or based on real crime cases, there are plenty of options to get your entertainment legal solution. Here are five online legal series to check on various streaming services.

Goliath (Amazon Prime)

Billy Bob Thorton plays the lawyer for Billy McBride, a stranded ambulance hunter who retreated into the bottle. But he has just landed the case of his life when he begins a wrongful death trial that leads him to unearth a massive conspiracy. The drama continues to unfold as McBride fights a legal battle against an increasingly tough opponent and dominant business. The series also stars William Hurt, Maria Bello, Olivia Thirlby and Nina Arianda.

When they see us (Netflix)

Based on the true story of the 1989 Central Park Five, When They See Us is a bitter and revealing docudrama miniseries. Directed by acclaimed director Ava DuVernay, the series documents the events of the wrongful arrest and disturbing trial that accused five black men suspected of murdering a jogger in Central Park. The series covers not only the trial, but the horrific aftermath that followed and how the lives of these young men were never the same after a cruel act of systemic racism on the part of the NYPD, still hate fanned by Donald Trump.

Damage (Hulu)

Patty Hewes (Glenn Close) is a lawyer who just tries to keep her life together as she pursues business and struggles to raise her granddaughter. But she will find herself in a difficult situation as she fights for custody after discovering the joys of having a second chance in motherhood. What follows is an intriguing, dark legal thriller with a complex story leaked in a non-linear fashion. A big Hulu legal spectacle.

The Good Fight (Amazon Prime)

A sequel to The Good Wife series, The Good Fight continues the story of a company that has been driven to financial ruin. Lawyer Diane Lockhart and her protégé of Maia are expelled from their cabinet and attempt to rebuild their reputation with a new cabinet. But it won’t be an easy battle to prove yourself in the courtroom with a long way ahead and start at the bottom.

Better Call Saul (Netflix)

As a spinoff series of Breaking Bad, You better call Saul follows the disturbing legal exploits of wacky lawyer Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk). Prior to being Goodman, however, he was known as Jimmy McGill because this prequel series focuses on his turmoil and clashes with criminal elements. The series also shows how he got to know former cop Mike Ehrmantraut’s “repairman” and how they came to rely on each other.
