PUD has options for customers overdue on electricity and water bills



With Gov. Jay Inslee’s moratorium on shutting down public services ending September 30, Snohomish County PUD clients who are behind on their bills are encouraged to seek help to help them get back on track. way and save time and stress in the future.

“Due to the pandemic, we know there are many customers in various circumstances who may need help,” said John Haarlow, CEO / CEO of PUD. “We want every customer who thinks they need help paying their bill or managing a balance to contact us. Assistance is just a phone call away.

PUD customer service representatives have many options to help customers stay up to date on their electricity and water bills. Customers can take advantage of extended payment agreements, generous payment plans to help customers stretch their balances, and reduced bills for income-eligible customers.

PUD customers are encouraged to call Customer Service at 425-783-1000 (Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.) for assistance.

After the moratorium on shutting down public services expires, the PUD does not plan to immediately revert to the previous disconnection process. Instead, PUD wants to continue to proactively reach out to clients and help those in financial difficulty get back to manageable balances. PUD also partners with local agencies to match clients with available federal grants to ensure that as many clients as possible can be reached.

“This support is not universal,” said Pam Baley, deputy general manager of customer and energy services at PUD. “If a client is struggling with a balance it is important to contact us so that we can find the best solution for their individual situation. Our goal is to serve customers where their needs lie, whether it’s payment terms assistance, financial assistance, or energy saving products.

Customers can access their account information through the MySnoPUD customer portal. MySnoPUD provides customers with 24/7 secure access to their account, including account balance, payments and billing history. A recent upgrade allows PUD customers to access and initiate payment agreements on MySnoPUD.
