SMEX, a Lebanese NGO working to advance self-regulated information societies in the Middle East and North Africa, is accepting applications for the 2023 Technology and Human Rights Fellowship.
The fellowship aims to bring new minds and voices to the field of digital rights, to provide innovative solutions to issues that govern internet use, and to expand research on emerging topics in digital rights in the region. MENA.
Fellows will attend monthly meetings with mentors to receive support in carrying out their work plans. Additionally, fellows will receive training related to digital security and campaigns.
Ideal candidates will be able to demonstrate strong research, writing and speaking skills in English and Arabic, as well as demonstrable experience and commitment to protecting and promoting digital rights and internet freedoms.
The fellowship is paid and part-time over 12 months, as fellows are expected to participate remotely an average of 15 hours per week.
